Sunday 6-Pack: 2017 Week 14 Recap

Welcome to the Sunday 6-Pack where we crack open six of the tastiest stories in the NFL. We got Week 14 going with a huge NFC South showdown on Thursday Night Football. It was Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons hosting Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. This was a defensive slugfest and like most Saints and Falcons games, it came down to a late fourth quarter possession to decide the game. Ultimately it was Drew Brees with an uber costly interception in the end zone. Add in a game sealing penalty on Sean Payton and the Falcons keep their playoff hopes alive with the 20-17 victory. We moved onto Sunday’s action for another critical game. This one in the AFC West. It was the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Oakland Raiders. It took the Raiders almost four quarters to find their offense, while the Chiefs got theirs going right away. With both teams in desperate need of a victory, it was the Chiefs rolling to the 26-15 win. Then it was back to the NFC for another game with playoff implications o’plenty as the Carolina Panthers were hosting the Minnesota Vikings. For most of the day it looked like the Panthers were going to run away with this one. However, late in the game the Vikings battled back, getting to within three points. It was the next Panthers drive that Cam went Superman with a huge run, setting up the game winning score. The Panthers keep their playoff hopes alive with the 31-24 win. This next game didn’t look too important when the schedule came out, but now that we’re in Week 14 it turned out to be a big time game. It was the Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the Seattle Seahawks. It was a defensive battle with a Jags 3-0 lead at halftime, but both teams had point explosions in the second half, but it was the Jags with more. Jacksonville scores the 30-24 win. You might not think there could be any huge games left, but you would be wrong. Our late games brought us to our backyard, right here in Los Angeles as the Rams were hosting the Philadelphia Eagles. This was a matchup between the top two quarterbacks, actually the top two players picked in the 2016 NFL Draft. It was Goff versus Wentz. But when the dust settled the Eagles won the game 43-35 but lost their quarterback Carson Wentz. We finish off this 6-Pack with some total fantasy domination. Help Casey and Dave crack open this super tasty Week 14 edition of the Sunday 6-Pack. We’re not the suits that talk football, we’re the dudes that know football!
