Sunday 6-Pack: Week 16 2018

Welcome to the Sunday 6-Pack where we crack open six of the tastiest stories in the NFL. Week 16 got going with a Saturday NFL football doubleheader. Both games with major playoff implications. We started in Nashville as Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans were hosting Josh Johnson and the Washington Redskins. It couldn’t have started worse for the Titans as they were losing, then they lost Mariota. But Blaine Gabbert and that Titans defense both stepped up big in the second half leading the Titans to the 25-16 win. Then it was out to Los Angeles as Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers were hosting Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The Chargers came into this one with the hopes of an AFC West title looming while the Ravens needed a win to stay in the wildcard race. The Chargers were down by six with just three minutes left in the game, but a Ravens scoop and score on an Antonio Gates fumble put the game away. The Ravens got the huge 22-10 win on the road. Up next we went down to Big D as Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys were hosting Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. The Cowboys just needed a win to clinch the NFC East and punch their ticket into the postseason. The Boys used some huge defensive plays by Randy Gregory and Jaylon Smith, including Smith’s 69 yard scoop and score. Dallas makes it back to the postseason as NFC East Champions with the 27-20 win. Then it was Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles hosting Desean Watson and the Houston Texans. The defending champs most likely needed to run the table just to have any hope of defending their crown while the Texans came into this one trying to secure a first round bye if not home field advantage throughout the playoffs. It looked like Desean had gotten the Texans a huge road win with a late TD pass, but it more Foles magic leading the Eagles to the last second 32-30 win. Then it was Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints hosting Big Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Saints were looking to wrap up home field advantage and the #1 Seed in the NFC while the Steelers needed a win to hold onto their lead in the AFC North. Both teams had several chances to win this game, but when it was over it was Drew Brees and the Saints securing the #1 Seed in the NFC Playoffs with the 31-28 win. We finish off this 6-Pack with some total fantasy domination. Help Casey and Dave crack open this super tasty Week 16 edition of the Sunday 6-Pack. We’re not the suits that talk football, we’re the dudes that KNOW football!
